OUR MISSION
Leading the fight to end hunger, in partnership with our community and in service of our neighbors in need.
WHO WE SERVE
An astounding 1 in 6 residents turn to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano for emergency and supplemental food. Many of our neighbors are unable to make ends meet and the Food Bank helps them cover one of life’s basic needs—nutritious food. We strive to serve all people experiencing hunger or food insecurity in Solano and Contra Costa counties and commit to never turn anyone away.
Through our partnership with Feeding America, a nonprofit network of 200 food banks and the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, we also lend support to hunger-fighting organizations in 18 Northern California counties.
HOW WE SERVE
We distribute food into the community by operating our own free food programs each week within Contra Costa and Solano counties and by partnering with 260 local nonprofit agencies to support their hunger-fighting efforts.
The work volunteers put in annually is equivalent to 50 full-time employees; they are the heart of our organization and we couldn’t do it without them.
