FosterAdopt Connect works with children, youth, and families as they navigate the complexities of the child welfare system. We provide support and resources through our programs that help break generational cycles of abuse and neglect. One of the most common struggles for foster parents and family members raising relatives unexpectedly is a lack of support as they care for youth who have experienced abuse or neglect.

Through our Sammy’s Window program we provide a wide variety of free items to lift the tangible burden of caring for youth who are in foster care, older youth whom have aged out of foster care, and youth whom have been adopted. Through the ongoing help of community donations, FosterAdopt Connect stocks items for all stages of child development. FosterAdopt Connect also provides support and resources through our Kinship Navigator, Fostering Prevention, Advocacy, and Community Connections Youth Project programs.

FosterAdopt Connect’s Community Connections Youth Project® (CCYP) helps current and former foster youth, ages 17-26, navigate the struggles of approaching adulthood without a solid support system. We connect youth to resources in several areas, including housing, higher education, employment, healthcare, finances, social supports, transportation, legal advocacy, and more. Our goal is to see young adults find stable housing, secure employment, and develop necessary skills to thrive in adulthood. Our Kinship Navigator program provides kinship support for grandparents, relatives, and other caregivers who are providing the children they love with a nurturing and loving home. We believe that the best place for a child is with family or close loved ones. However, caring for children unexpectedly can be overwhelming. We offer one-on-one kinship support from a team experienced in finding solutions and community resources to help them succeed.

The Fostering Prevention program helps to assess, support, and teach families in their own home to give them parenting skills they need to thrive as a family. In times of significant hardship, family support in crucial areas can prevent children from entering foster care while providing stability and safety. FosterAdopt Connect is a resource for families at risk of losing custody of their children. The Fostering Prevention program helps families to solve relational and environmental problems before extreme measures need to be taken.

The Advocacy program connects families to foster parents who’ve been in the trenches of foster care and adoption to help address their specific concerns. Advocates can help manage a crisis, but want to help before it reaches that stage. Our advocates listen, educate, and plan with families on what steps they can take to get the answers and solutions they need so that they are freed up to give the best possible care to their children.
