The Sandwich Education Foundation (officially named Sandwich Community Unit School District 430 Foundation for Educational Excellence) is a non-profit organization formed in 1994 to enhance the educational opportunities for the students of Sandwich CUSD #430. The Board of Trustees is made up of parents, teachers, and local business owners who volunteer their time to help support and enrich the opportunities for children in the community. This organization is independent of the school district, but we do work closely with the schools to achieve our mission. We host one large fundraiser per year, with the funds being used for items that are not supported in the annual school budget. Some of the things we have purchased in recent years are books for the libraries, technology (Kindle readers, special music programs/apps, laptops, etc.), hands-on math manipulatives, special multi-generational activities (Grandparents Day), etc. We also use a small amount of our funding to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors.
