Since its resurrection in 2000, the Franklin Opera House has redefined itself as THE community resource for the performing arts, offering opportunities both for those seeking to perform, nurturing talent and building self-esteem, and providing affordable entertainment for residents of the wider Franklin area. A dedicated group of volunteers participates in the ongoing renovation, maintenance, and operation of this historic theater.
The performance space is the only such facility for local schools and other performing organizations. We would like to increase that usage. Our summer camp program, the Franklin Area Children’s Theatre has provided hundreds of area children and youth an unequaled opportunity to experience the camaraderie and fulfillment of creating and enjoying live performances. Our challenge and mission is to offer these opportunities at a reasonable price so that we reach as many members of the community as possible.
