Friends for a Nonviolent World (FNVW) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote and create peace and justice in our community by using the principles and practices of nonviolence to transform conflict and to address the root causes of violence.

Through our four main programs, we offer:

·       Conflict resolution and violence prevention workshops in prisons, jails and in the community through our Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) program. We’re excited to share that we will soon offer AVP workshops for youth through partnerships with schools and community organizations.

·       The podcast series, Everyday Nonviolence, that tells the stories of people using nonviolence to transform themselves and the world around them.

·       People Camp, a week-long, intergenerational experience of cooperation, community living, and the exploration of nonviolent ways to promote peace and justice.

·       Advocacy and Outreach initiatives which include hosting community dialogues and workshops on topics such as addressing gender-based violence and creating community safety. We also build power for social change through relational organizing and by working in coalition with other groups.
