The Friends of the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts (LVA) is an organization that was established to support the financial needs of LVA, a public, five-star performing arts high school that provides free education to more than 1,700 students. LVA has enjoyed great success since its establishment in 1992. Our students have a 100% graduation rate.
Our school has won more Grammy Awards than any high school in the nation – 12 to date. Most recently, the Arts Schools Network awarded LVA Exemplary Status for overall excellence and leadership in arts education. However, the financial costs of providing a strong education in the liberal, performing, and visual arts have risen steeply and the financial obstacles are compounded given much of the campus, which was home to the first high school in the Las Vegas Valley, is more than 80 years old. The funds we raise cover costs that are necessary for our students to excel in their studies but are not covered by the school district budget.
The Friends’ continued goal is to support the dreams of these aspiring students to master their arts and share their gifts with the community in dozens of performances and exhibitions each year so we all may Experience the Arts!
