Friends of Richmond Community High Schools coordinates community members, businesses, parents, and other nonprofit organizations interested in the continued success of students, primarily from disadvantaged backgrounds, for career and college readiness in the City of Richmond. The organization focuses on activities that help provide an equitable educational experience for primarily black and other minority students from low-income homes.
The goal is to provide a rigorous education with the supports in place to help students attend college or trade school regardless of their socioeconomic situation. We are committed to preparing students to excel in a demanding, technologically sophisticated, global society by providing a college preparatory and experiential learning environment that nurtures individual achievement while embracing diversity.
The nonprofit manages programs such as mental wellness, advanced academics, after school activities, student community engagement, community garden, and provides needed supplies and equipment for academic engagement.
