Friends of the Chicago River's mission is to improve and protect the Chicago River system for people, plants, and animals. We do this through our three program areas of policy and planning, education and outreach, and on-the-ground projects. Our work serves people of various racial, physical, and economic statuses across the Chicago area, as we strive to make the Chicago River watershed more accessible for all people to enjoy.
