Serving the students and families of Pacific Ballet Conservatory
Friends of the Conservatory is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving the students and families of Pacific Ballet Conservatory. Under the guidance of Maryann Bayless, our Artistic Director, we strive to enhance the overall dancing experience of the Pacific Ballet Conservatory students and to support the efforts of the Pacific Ballet Conservatory Director, Staff & Instructors.
Through generous donations, fund-raisers such as our Encore and Pacific Ballet Conservatory apparel sales, boutique items and flowers at performances, the Friends of the Conservatory has been able to offer student scholarships to summer dance programs and to host special events for students and their families.
Friends of the Conservatory provides scholarship money to students qualified to attend Ballet Company-affiliated schools for their summer programs. Participation in these summer programs broaden the dancers’ perspective, and thus helps them grow as dancers. Our students have auditioned for and been accepted to schools such as: Alvin Alley Dance Theatre, American Academy of Ballet, American Ballet Theatre (ABT), School of American Ballet (SAB), Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, The Boston Ballet, Kirov Academy, Milwaukee Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Virginia School of the Arts, and Santa Barbara Ballet.
Special events hosted by Friends of the Conservatory for students of all ages and their families have included: Masquerade Party, Holiday Party and Ice Cream Social. Friends of the Conservatory also offers discount tickets to events at Segerstrom Center for the Arts including the Ballet Series and Broadway Series. For those students promoted to Pointe, Friends of the Conservatory provides students with a gift certificate to Discount Dance Supply toward their first pair of Pointe shoes.
