The Friends of the Library Foundation was chartered July 14, 1988. It was established to assist the library with fundraising efforts for programs, equipment, materials, building needs and any other needs that arise. They are a 501 ( c ) 3 organization. This means that your gifts and donations are tax deductible. Through the years the Friends have contributed not just funds, but also thousands of volunteer hours!

The Friends of the Library provides funding for Children's Programs and the Summer Reading Program. As a small community outside of Kansas City many of the children in our area do not have access to any other enrichment programs than those provided by the library. The Wellsville, KS Public Library just received the award of Best Small Library in Kansas as awarded by the State of Kansas Library Board.
