Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library is a support group that provides funding and volunteers for the Doris Padgett Public Library. We not only serve Sunnyvale, but our border neighbor Mesquite and Forney which does not have a library. As an organization we encourage others to become a patron at our library through community events such as National Night Out and the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce Community Expo. We have establish the Sunnyvale Faire and Book Sale to bring together Sunnyvale businesses, organiztions and vendors which in turn draws attention to our library. We are a very small library, but very active with such events as Library Card Signup Month, Give Thanks for Books, Love Your Library Month and the Summer Reading Program that offers 3 activities each week in the summer.
