Friends of Weaver has been able to supplement our core curriculum with resources that provide educational opportunities for both our students and our teachers. FOW funds additional programs like STEAM, provides the latest classroom technology and quickly fulfills teacher requests for tools they need to make our children successful. Our mission is to create a greater interest in science and inspire the next generation of science engineers. It is run by a Board of Directors comprised of parent volunteers in conjunction with the school Principal
FOW has supplied our SCIENCE TEACHER with all the supplies she needs to conduct curriculum for grades K-5, FOW has also provided funds to hire additional intervention teachers needed after COVID. Most recently we have been able to purchase color printers for all teachers so their time was spent in the classroom and not at the school's print shop. FOW also monetarily supported a Library upgrade with functional furniture and mindfulness space. Friends of Weaver continues to fund extra staff to give our teachers the release time they need to prep for their grades as a team vs prepping individually so that all teachers are on the same page. This year our goal is to purchase new furniture for the 5th-grade students as they are using the same desks as the 1st-grade students, which is not ideal for their size.
Friends of Weaver benefits the community by supporting a STEAM program that provides an integral part of a well-rounded education for our students. By ensuring that our students have a STEAM PROGRAM available to them we are building generations of children that are excited about the possibilities of a technology career, in this everchanging world.
