The Friendship Circle of Washington is a dual-impact nonprofit organization that has served over 700 families in the Greater Seattle Area. By pairing youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities with a teen volunteer we create lasting friendships and a more inclusive community for all. Our 200 passionate teen volunteers represent 49 private and public schools across the region and have dedicated over 40,000 service hours to bridge the gap between youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and typically developing teens.

The Friendship Circle creates community and friendship through:

●        Weekly life skills and social inclusion programs focused on empowering children and teens with  intellectual and developmental disabilities to fully participate in their community

●        Unique respite via our Friends-at-Home program with weekly visits to homes across the county

●        Ongoing volunteer education and leadership training through MVP and volunteer seminars

●        UMatter mental health initiative for teens that includes peer to peer meetups, resources, and support

●        Special programs like Summer Camp, Mom’s Night Out, and Holiday Celebrations
