Founded in 1985, the Genesee Community College Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing service and support to the College. Through its many initiatives and programs, the Foundation is steadfastly committed to inspiring students to succeed academically, and help them become active, contributing citizens of our community.
Led by a board of directors, the Foundation makes student scholarships a high priority. Foundation scholarships recognize talented graduates from our local high schools, motivate enthusiastic working adults to return to college, and assist many students who are facing economic hardships that may prevent their academic attendance. The students supported by Foundation scholarships will one day be contributing members of our community—working as health care providers, business partners, artists or actors, teachers or firefighters, computer techs or engineers, and entrepreneurs.
The goals of the Genesee Community College Foundation are:
Excellence - We recognize and encourage academic success at Genesee Community College, and provide financial support for our community’s academically talented students.
Access - We help provide a Genesee Community College education to all Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, and Wyoming County students facing financial and personal hardship through no fault of their own.
Vitality - We promote study in fields critical to the economic growth of business and industry in our region.
Involvement - We provide avenues for alumni, stakeholder, and community involvement in the College.
Capital - We help provide capital resources that foster superior education and service to our students.
