The mission of the Georgia Veterans Day Association, Inc. (GVDA) is to honor, support and thank all who have served and are currently serving in our Armed Foreces. We accomplish these goals by hosting one of the Nation's largest Veterans Day Parade,and any related events during Veterans Day, promoting the truth that freedom is not free and exhibiting the belief of Freedom through Service. We provide education and outreach programs to ensure that our future generations appreciate and learn about veterans and their sacrifices, and enhancing the sense of community for all. Most importantly, we want to honor America's Legacy of Service.
Every November, on the closest Saturday to 11/11, GVDA celebrates and showcases the community's immense gratitude to our Veterans and active military with our signature events: Georgia Veterans Day Parade in downtown Atlanta, Freedom Ball, and Veterans Festival at Pemberton Place. 2018 date is Saturday, November 10th with theme, "The Wars Between The Wars" - honoring the years following Vietnam and prior to 9/11. During this time, our military forces deployed around the world to prevent the spread of communism, kept the peace in volatile regions, and rapidly respndede to hot spots worldwide.
