The Gift from the Heart is a Canadian charity connecting oral health care professionals to vulnerable Canadians who encounter barriers accessing essential oral health care. Our dental hygienists travel in our refitted ambulances to provide oral cancer screenings, oral wellness checks and preventive services at no cost to our residents in need. Those who are financial unable to afford the cost of having their teeth cleaned. Gift from the Heart organizes Free Dental Days where our volunteer dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants and support teams provide free extractions, free fillings and teeth cleanings to our residents in need. We work from donated dental office spaces as well as community centres, shelters and churches. Our goal is to improve the overall wellness and a better quality of life through barrier-free access to essential oral health care services for all.
