The Gillispie School, established in 1953, is devoted to educational excellence for children in preschool through grade six. Our program serves as a springboard for children's love of learning, creativity, and readiness for the future. We value a nurturing environment that fosters kindness, respect, and individual commitment to a larger world. We believe that learning is a journey in which children are active participants. We balance a child-centered approach that does not rush childhood, with well-researched academic programs that demand higher-level thinking. With a focus on social-emotional learning, we develop strength of character, kindness towards others, and openness to diverse ideas and cultures. Gillispie serves approximately 300 students annually, and one in six students receives financial assistance.
