Girls Inc. is a non-profit organization that inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. We provide safe spaces, mentorships, and reseach-based programs that help girls learn to believe in themselves, build life skills, and set and achieve their goals. Girls Inc. girls live healthy and active lifestyles and are less likely to engage in risky behavior; they are eager to learn, be successful in school, and more likely to graduate from post secondary education and display diligence, perserverance, and resilience. Girls Inc.'s mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through direct advocacy. We focus on the development of the whole girl. She learns to value herself, take risks, and discover and develop her inner strengths. The combination of long-lasting menoring relationships, a pro-girl environment, and evidence-based programming equips girls to navigate economic and social barriers, and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. Girls Inc. prides itself on reseach-based programming that is delivered by trained professionals by supporting, mentoring, and guiding all girls in an affirming, inclusive environment. Our staff is passionate about providing all girls with resources to be able to have a successful future and to face problems and issues head on with knowledge and confidence. Our organization is unique, in part, because the Girls Inc. Experience has positive and lasting effect for the girls who participate in our academic and behavioral outcome studies. In a rigorous comparison study, we found that girls who participate demonstrate and improve academic performance, school-related behaviors, physical activity, and leadership outcomes. Across the decades, we've adapted to meet the specific enviornmental challenges facing girls and young woment, always working in partnership with schools and communities, and guided by our founders' fundamental belief in the inherent potential of each girl. The importance of creating a safe gathering place for girls to learn and to share in sisterhood and a strong premise that each girl can develop her own capacities, self-confidence, and grow up healthy, educated, and independent.
