YMCA Southcoast has been working to provide health and social services to thousands of youth, families, and individuals throughout the Southcoast region for over 150 years. The Gleason Family YMCA in Wareham is one of the six branches that comprise YMCA Southcoast and was opened in August 2004. The Y benefits the entire community through our facilities, programs, and services. A volunteer Board of Advisors sets the policy for the Executive Director, who manages the operation with staff and volunteer leaders. The Executive Directors focus is to determine what activities and services will be unique and beneficial to the community. To accomplish this task, the Executive Director partners with community leaders and volunteers to develop programs that are distinctive to Wareham's demographics. Wareham borders Cape Cod and the Gleason Family YMCA attracts members from the surrounding communities of Bourne, Marion, Mattapoisett, Fairhaven, Rochester, Carver, Plymouth and more.
