In our city of Akron, Ohio, we've been seeing an influx of violent crime. What's most disheartening about this is that 70% of violent crime in our city is being committed by people between the ages of 14 and 25. These kids that are being swept up in these cycles of violence will either end up dead or incarcerated. We're here to do something about that. Offering a different perspective along with the music, we hope to counter the culture of violence with a sound that people like accompanied by the content that they need.
Mainsteam Christian music is great. However, it is targeted to a very specific audience. So naturally, there are groups of people who aren't being reached with the current climate of mainstream Christianity. We look to bridge that gap. We look to target people who would listen to a rapper such as Lil Wayne before they would listen to Chris Tomlin simply because it's the sound and culture that they prefer. Our presence and efforts will be heavily focused on the inner city with this in mind as that is where Hip-Hop is the most prevalent and the most effective.
There is also a healing that has to take place in our communities. People of all races love Jesus. People of all races love Hip-Hop. So, we hope to take advantage that to promote unity, peace and reconiliation.
