Every week Got Your Back San Diego distributes backpacks full of food to elementary schools in the San Diego Unified School Districts. The backpacks are designated specifically for children who have been identified as homeless under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Each backpack is filled with six meals, two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners, a few snack items and fruit cups, enough food for two days.
