Graceful Acres is a non-profit organization started by Jonathan Mattis. The facility provides a unique therapy for individuals who may be faced with emotional, physical, or mental disabilities. It is in Halifax, Pennsylvania, just a short drive outside Harrisburg. The program provides their students with the opportunity to learn coordination, self-assurance, muscle stimulation, balance, building relationships with the horses, horsemanship, and so much more! Along with this, Graceful Acres is also responsible for rescuing ten beautiful horses!
On average, for each rider to have one lesson a week costs a parent about $1,560 per year. The accumulated costs of feeding, veterinary fees, equipment, and other miscellaneous expenses total over $41,000 a year. Graceful Acres has also just recently built a new indoor arena thanks to all the previous donations along with a loan from the bank.
By supporting Graceful Acres, you are making a difference in the lives of children and young adults who would need your help. Donations will provide scholarships for riders, food for the horses, help with veterinary expenses, and most importantly, allow children and young adults to connect, learn, and grow as they interact with the horses.
