"Through the participation and instruction in the sport of cheerleading, we will promote the ideas of good sportsmanship, integrity, personal accountability, team cooperation and community activities."

Our goal at GJBC is to instill confidence in our athletes, encourage teamwork on and off the mat, and promote a positive attitude win or lose.  To make sure our athletes develop these values, GJBC starts practice every July training hard for the competition season in the Fall culminating with the Illinois Cheer Association State Meet every December.

But this experience comes with a financial cost.  Each athlete’s family pays up to $850 to cover the costs of a uniform, shoes, choreography, training space and so much more.  We at GJBC understand that this amount of money is a lot for a family to burden so we try our best to not turn away any athlete due to financial hardship.  This is where we look to the community to help make dreams happen.

The GJBC is a private, non-profit organization, incorporated in the State of Illinois. We receive zero tax dollars and no financial support from the area park districts or townships. Our organization is funded entirely by sponsors and the fees paid by our families.  Any financial support whether it is sponsorship or donations will go directly to offset our organizational cost which in turn will lower a family’s registration cost.

What we do here at Grant Jr. Bulldog Cheerleading is not just teach kids and teens how to cheer.  We show the littlest athletes that what seems impossible on day one is possible if you just work at it.  In the older athletes we ingrain that without teamwork your flyers do not fly, and your pyramids will fall.  And for those athletes leaving.  They will leave us as leaders ready to command the floor.

Cheerleading might be in our name but is not the only thing we do.  Like I said above “when others get involved—as volunteers, coaches, and sponsors—their actions change their lives and the lives of others in extraordinary ways” and that is what our athletes will do.  They will change the lives of others with the values they learned with Grant Jr. Bulldog Cheer.
