On February 4th, 2023, Penn State Chicago will be hosting our 8th annual Night for the Cure fundraising event.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the Penn State Dance Marathon (THON) and Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. I am respectfully submitting this request for a donation, gift cards, gift baskets or another donation (minimum suggested value: $50.00) to be used within the silent auction or raffle at the event. This donation would greatly benefit all who are involved in THON.

The mission of the Penn State Dance Marathon is to conquer pediatric cancer by providing outstanding emotional and financial support to the children, families, researchers, and staff of the Four Diamonds Fund. Since 1977, THON has raised more than $157 million benefiting the Four Diamonds Fund, which picks up where insurance leaves off, enabling families to solely focus on care for their child.

Along with the direct impact to Four Diamonds families, the money raised by THON supports research that has the ability to help children across the country. Thanks to THON and the Four Diamonds Fund, Penn State Hershey Medical Center recruits world-class talent to continue innovative research benefiting children worldwide. Penn State Hershey Pediatric Oncology researchers are a part of Pediatric Oncology Experimental Therapeutics Investigators Consortium (POETIC), a group of oncologists throughout North America working together to reach common goals. The Four Diamonds Fund supports cutting-edge research that offers pediatric cancer patients significant hope that in the future, treatment will be more effective and have fewer long-term complications.
