We are a group of volunteers from the KC area who host an annual charity fundraiser. We plan a trivia night, dinner and silent auction to benefit the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired (CCVI) and Alphapointe, both of these non-profit organizations benefit children who are blind or visually impaired in the KC area. As a local alumnae chapter of a national fraternity, any funds raised are tracked through our national, non-profit Delta Gamma Foundation (which is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.) At the end of our fiscal year, June 30, 2022, a check is issued to each of our local beneficiaries. In prior years, funds donated were earmarked for Youth Adventure Camp in Parkville, MO which provides outdoor experiences (horseback riding, swimming, "Beep" baseball and more) to visually impaired and blind children. Funds have also been earmarked to help children and their families with the cost of occupational therapy, braille instruction and other services provided at CCVI. These programs are designed to help children learn to become as independent as possible in a sighted world.
