Grater Winston-Salem, Inc.'s Senior Academy Dropout Prevention and Career Readiness Program runs from July – June; Mentors are recruited and trained July-August and are matched with their mentee from September until the student graduates – in most cases that occurs in June but some students do not graduate on-time or in summer school and return as 5th year seniors. Senior Academy has had a 93-99% success rate and has therefore helped to increase the high school graduation rate, help break the cycle of poverty and personal and societal ills, and increase the skill level of our workforce.
