Our Organization
The Greene County Humane Society, located in Greene County, Indiana is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization. The humane society is governed by a volunteer board of directors who meet regularly to direct the organization. It is our mission to provide a healthy, clean and pleasing environment for both animals and potential adopters. All dog kennels and cat cages are outfitted with beds and  safe and durable play items. In addition, our adoptable dogs are leash walked throughout the day, and have access to large, fenced in yards. Our adoptable cats benefit from an enclosed play room area that provides mental stimulation, social interaction and exercise 7 hours a day.

Our Goals
The Greene County Humane Society is dedicated to re-homing every animal possible. Each animal that comes in is evaluated, vetted and prepared for adoption promptly to try to ensure that we always have available space for unwanted animals in the community. We no longer euthanize animals for space so there may be times when we are forced to no longer accept certain animals while we work to adopt what we have.

We want to provide our animals with the best possible care and work every day to ensure that we can do so.

Our Funding
The Greene County Humane Society is a completely private organization. 98% of our funding comes from donors and fees for services such as adoption. We do work with the City of Linton to house animals picked up by the Linton Animal Control Officer. While we will try to assist the public with advice on any animal welfare issues, we have no legal authority to intervene. We recommend these items to be directed to local law enforcement.
