The Griffin School Foundation is a nonprofit organization (Tax ID #45-4330799) with the sole purpose of supporting the Griffin School District community by helping to provide educational resources to the school district’s students. Through your generous donations to our previous biennial auction, we are able to continue to do good things for our community.
Here’s a brief sampling of our past projects:
● Established a Superintendents Fund to help support students and families with unanticipated emergency needs that cannot otherwise be funded by the school
● Created two fully endowed scholarships, and three additional $3,000-10,000 scholarships that are awarded annually to past and current Griffin School students seeking higher academic pursuits
● Awarded monies for special grants within Griffin School to support teachers and students in achieving maximum engaged learning opportunities
● Awarded monies for technology upgrades to Griffin classrooms, including iPads for classroom use, media projectors, and digital image capturing cameras
● Purchase of musical instruments and dramatic stage support equipment, including timpani drums, taiko percussion instruments, and an acoustic band shell
● Refurbished and repaired the athletic fields on 41st Street, owned by the Griffin School District, making them available and accessible to Griffin students, the Steamboat Island Community, and outside athletic groups
● Write and distribute newsletters in the district to share the collective work of our foundation for the students, faculty and staff at Griffin
● Built the engraved pavers display honoring community members and local families with pavers placed in a prominent location at Griffin School
● Provided funding for the archery and fly fishing programs
The Griffin School Foundation has provided over $100,000 to teachers and staff through our twice-yearly grant program, giving the staff at Griffin School the ability to request funding for items and experiences that will enhance the learning opportunities for Griffin students.
