The mission of Guardian Angel Settlement Association is to provide support to the underserved population in the greater St. Louis area by helping them improve the quality of their lives and achieve stability. Our Early Childhood Education and Social Stability programs allow us to continue to provide our clients a hand-up, not a hand-out. Our approach is flexible, personal, and compassionate – working 1:1 to gain an understanding of each person’s unique situation and connect them to the services and support they need.

Our Early Childhood Education program provides for children ages 6-weeks to five years of age. Services are offered on a sliding scale, so cost is never a barrier. Our trauma-informed instructors provide supportive, inclusive education for children experiencing gun violence and other challenges at home, as well as those with disabilities and complex medical needs, ensuring every child has the opportunity to grow and learn. We provide everything a child needs during the day, including diapers and food. We also offer parenting education and resources to support families as a whole.

Our Social Stability programs support those facing homelessness, the threat of eviction, foreclosure, utility shut-off, or hunger. It is the assurance that basic needs can be met so that we can continue to work on the next step on the path to possible. Once the immediate emergency of food or housing insecurity has been addressed, families work with our case workers to build a plan to work toward stability to improve their overall well-being. We also offer Self-Sufficiency workshops to help our members reach their goals and gain life skills to build a brighter future.
