Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. We have chosen, as our means of manifesting God’s love, to build adequate and durable homes with those in need of shelter We believe that safe and affordable housing is a basic human right and a fundamental component of dignity and long term well-being for every person on earth. In addition to building homes, we give 10% of all unrestricted gifts go to a third world country that can’t fundraise on their own. Habitat for Humanity Greater Peoria Area also repairs and renovates existing houses, primarily for elderly, disabled, and Veterans. In addition, we lead holistic neighborhood revitalization efforts, advocate for fair and just housing policies, and help communities clean up and rebuild after natural disasters.
