Our Mission: Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Established in 1993, Habitat for Humanity of Schenectady County partners with working-class families, sponsors, and communities to build safe, decent, affordable homes and to provide support services that promote successful home purchase and ownership.

Schenectady Habitat, which works throught Schenectady County, is one of 1,000+ affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International. We construct quality houses that are sold to partner families through no-profit loans. Home buyers complete sweat-equity hours and other requirements, pay for their homes, pay taxes and all upkeep, and maintain current payments on their properties. The result is dramatic, positive differences in the lives of family members and in neighborhoods.
