The Voluntary Action Center (VAC) was established in 1971 to provide services to low-income individuals and families struggling to meet basic needs.  Today we focus on Hunger and Homeless Prevention by operating a Community Kitchen, Food Pantry, laundry/shower facilities, and emergency financial assistance programs.  Our Community Kitchen serves hot meals to anyone in need Monday-Friday for lunch and dinner.  Our laundry and shower facilities are available to homeless individuals.  Our food pantry is available to low-income households who struggle with food insecurity.  Our emergency financial assistance programs prevent eviction, prevent utility disconnection, and provide emergency hotel vouchers.  All of the programs we provide are free to those we serve.
