Hart High Cheer Booster Club’s Mission Statement:
The mission of the Hart Cheer Booster Club is to provide financial, social, and educational support to the cheerleading program at Hart High School and to promote and support thedevelopment of good sportsmanship, squad unity, and mutual respect. This organization shall promote a congenial relationship among the membership, cheerleaders, coach(es), school administration, other school organizations, and the community in general.

Activities and Programs that illustrate Hart Cheer Booster Club’s purpose:
Hart Cheer Booster Club is dedicated to fulfilling its mission statement by implementing a variety of activities and programs that promote the financial, social, and educational support to the cheerleading program at Hart High School. Additionally, the club aims to foster the development of good sportsmanship, squad unity, and mutual respect among the cheerleaders. Hart High School and the Wm. S. Hart School District provides $0.00 to Hart High’s cheerleading program.  Any and all expenses related to Hart High School’s Cheerleading Program comes from direct donations and fundraising collected and organized by Hart Cheer Booster Club.  Here are some examples of activities and programs that align with the mission statement:

1. Fundraising Events: The booster club organizes various fundraising events throughout the year to generate funds for the cheerleading program. These events could include product sales (like popcorn and See’s Candy) , community events (like our cornhole tournament) , restaurant nights (which not only supports our organization but also supports local eateries) and community-sponsored initiatives (our sponsorship program). The funds raised can be used to cover expenses such as borrowed uniforms, equipment, insurance, coaches compensation, gifts for visiting squads during football season, and other essential resources.

2. Community Service Projects: The booster club is actively encouraging and organizing community service projects in which the cheerleaders are requested to participate. Engaging in activities such as volunteering at local charities, organizing fundraisers for worthy causes (currently working on helping a high school cheer team in Maui), helps promote good sportsmanship, squad unity, and instills a sense of social responsibility among the cheerleaders.

3. Team-Building Activities: The booster club facilitates team-building activities (often at Team Bonding Parties)  for the cheerleading squad. These activities may include team bonding exercises, trust-building games, and collaborative challenges. Such experiences promote unity, trust, and mutual respect among the cheerleaders, fostering a positive team culture.

4. Mentorship Program: The booster club establishes a mentorship program where experienced and senior cheerleaders provide guidance and support to new or less-experienced members.  We call this the Big Sister / Little Sister Program.  This program helps foster squad unity, as well as promotes mutual respect and camaraderie among the cheerleaders. It also facilitates the transfer of skills, knowledge, and values within the team.

5. Recognition and Awards: The booster club organizes recognition events, such as the end-of-season banquet, to acknowledge the achievements, progress, and growth of the cheerleaders. Awards are given for both educational merit as well as cheerleading merit.   Acknowledging and celebrating individual and team accomplishments helps motivate the cheerleaders and reinforces the values of good sportsmanship and mutual respect.

By implementing these activities and programs, the Hart Cheer Booster Club effectively supports the cheerleading program at Hart High School and helps fulfill its mission statement by providing financial assistance, fostering social cohesion, promoting educational growth, and cultivating good sportsmanship, squad unity, and mutual respect among the cheerleaders.
