Hav A Sole’s mission is to provide marginalized populations with
quality footwear in order to promote healthier lifestyles. This Los
Angeles based organization started in 2014 when its founder, Rikki
Mendias, a devoted sneaker head, decided to give away his coveted
collection of shoes. For Rikki, this was a full circle moment because
while living in a shelter as a young boy, a former resident bought him
two new pairs of sneakers. That one act of kindness made such an
impact on Rikki, that years later he loaded up his car and drove the
streets of L.A. giving away his shoes to people in need. Using his
passion for photography, he shared stories along with beautiful
images of people receiving their new shoes. It wasn’t long before
local Nike stores and other large brands became involved in this
refreshingly grassroots outreach. What is unique about Hav A Sole, is
we provide each person the opportunity to select their favorite style.
This creates a much deeper human connection.
