Allow me to introduce you to the Haven on the Queensway. Our staff and over 100 volunteers are committed to Toronto's most vulnerable citizens' physical and emotional health and well-being. To those who come through our doors, the Haven offers an atmosphere of respect, dignity, and security as we help people on their way to becoming more self-sufficient.

The Haven on the Queensway became a stand-alone official registered Canadian charity in 2014 with the charitable no. 80409 5214 RR0001. Since then it continues its steadfast determination to help feed and clothe the less fortunate by providing a Food Bank (serving 600+ people weekly) as well as the very popular Haven’s Closet (FREE clothing for those in need). Also, the Haven’s Hope With Wheels program has a humanitarian van to deliver hot food, clothing, basic necessities, sleeping bags, blankets, and friendly help to the homeless in Toronto’s core on a twice-weekly basis and more often in the colder months. Equally significant supporting programs at the Haven include Stepping Out (assisting those who wish to exit the sex trade), Parents Hope (supporting families impacted by human trafficking), First Care (for families or single parents with newborns), Children’s Book Centre (free educational materials for the children of Haven clients), Inmate Rehab (help for those incarcerated and/or soon to be released), Alcoholics Anonymous (12-step program), and Haven Helping Seniors (assisting isolated and/or low-income seniors).

The cost to keep all these programs running is high and due to the financial pressures of the pandemic on our community, our number of clients has skyrocketed. About 18% of Haven’s programming budget depends on our annual fundraising events.
