HAVIN's mission is to provide supportive services and advocacy to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse. These services are also provided to their families and/or significant others. Our organization also works to increase public awareness, and effect critical changes in public policy and response to sexual and domestic violence and child abuse. Direct service to survivors is provided through shelter in a safe location, advocacy and accompaniment to court proceedings and medical appointments or emergency needs, filing PFA's (Protection From Abuse orders) as well as others. Our outreach department works to educate our community on the impact on survivors as well as the community at large. We continue our efforts of diversity and inclusion in our county. The pandemic has changed the world and our services are no different. We continue to work to meet our clients where they are such as updating our abilities to perform counseling appointments safely online. As grant funds are not always available to these endeavors, our fundraisers are vital.
