Mission:  Our mission is to promote artists, art education, an innovation in art. 


Beliefs: We believe arts can be a vehicle to spark conversations and spur social change. 


History: Our history began in 1977 from the passion and action of dedicated volunteers.

 

Who We Serve: HCAC serves artists living in western North Carolina, in 23 counties. We also serve youth through arts programming and volunteer opporunities. Finally we host events for people of all ages and backgrounds, for both residents and visitors to Haywood County. 

 

How We Serve: HCAC sponsors a downtown Waynseville gallery where artists are able to exhibit and sell their work. HCAC sponsors multiple programs for artists, youth, and communiy members, including Creation Classes, the Junior Appalchian Musicians Program, Art Across Haywood (Public Art Installations), and Quilt Trails of WNC. HCAC also host many events including the Haywood County Studio Tour, the Smoky Mountains Bluegrass Festival, the Applachian Dance Hootenanny, and Artist Interview Series.
