Healing Action is a local non-profit in St. Louis, Missouri that serves adults who are victims of sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. Our mission at Healing Action is that, “We are committed to combating commercial sexual exploitation and sex-trafficking through a multi-system approach of creating awareness by sharing our experience/strength/hope with others, advocacy with/on behalf of survivors for programs and services needed to empower them, and healing action to create spaces where all can thrive”.
Healing Action in the only provider of peer-led, clinical support in the St. Louis region. The primary focus of the work of Healing Action is to help individuals who have survived commercial sexual exploitation to heal and rebuild their lives on their own terms. We have provided services to over 200 individuals since opening in 2016, and are receiving an average of 1-2 referrals each week. Our dedicated clinicians provide evidence-based trauma therapy, intensive community case management and certified peer support groups and coaching sessions. We also provide survivors access to basic needs, including food, clothing, personal hygiene items, housing and transportation assistance through our Basic Needs of Life Fund.
