Heart of Texas Goodwill provides job skills training to individuals with disabilities and disadvantages. Many barriers factor disadvantages from lack of transportation to having no shelter or food. We strive to educate individuals on the resources available to them to overcome those barriers, making their post skills training a success. Heart of Texas Goodwill currently has 5 Job Connections, which host many weekly classes covering a vast scope of topics and skills. Our classes include computer basics such as internet surfing, email management, and best security practices. Individuals with existing computer skills can attend an array of Microsoft application classes. There are classes and resources made available specifically for job searching, resume writing, and interviewing skills to help people find sustainable, fare waged employment. New financial literacy classes provide valuable information regarding credit management, budgeting, banking, home ownership, and even small business developement. All of these classes are available at low or no cost, resources are made available to the public and require no registration.
