Mission: Through authentic Montessori classrooms, Heartland Montessori School works toward a more inclusive and kind world by supporting the intellectual growth, confidence, and curiosity of young children.
Heartland Montessori School, established in 1994 in River Falls, Wisconsin, as an elementary program, has evolved over the years to meet the changing needs of the community. Initially formed by a group of dedicated parents seeking alternative educational options, the school expanded to include a Children's House and later adapted to support younger children with toddler and infant-parent programs. This adaptability mirrors the spirit of Montessori, adjusting to the dynamic nature of the community.
Today, Heartland Montessori offers diverse programs, including the Toddler Community for infants and toddlers to age three, and the Children’s House for ages three to six, which follows Maria Montessori's sensory learning principles. Toddlers in this carefully prepared environment explore their world using all senses, promoting physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. For children aged three to six, the Children's House program harnesses the absorbent minds of young learners, providing hands-on materials for independent exploration. Emphasizing holistic development, the focus extends beyond academic readiness to nurture well-rounded growth—socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Heartland Montessori School creates a stimulating educational environment, preparing children for a lifelong journey of learning and personal development.
