The mission of Heaven On Earth Society For Animals is to transform the lives of homeless cats through rescue, sanctuary, and new beginnings.

We fulfill our mission by:

  • Rescue. The life-saving begins when we save cats and underage kittens from City and County shelters and directly from the streets and care for them until they are healthy, sterilized, and available for adoption. In 2022, we rescued 889 cats and kittens from local shelters.
  • The Perry MacFarlane Sanctuary. Cats with us temporarily awaiting adoption and longer-term residents receive quality care at our 5,500-square-foot adoption center and sanctuary in North Hollywood known as Perry’s Place.
  • Adoption Program. We adopt cats and kittens at Perry’s Place, local PetSmart stores, and directly from the homes of volunteer foster care providers. Over the past thirteen years, we have grown from completing 52 adoptions per year, to 708 in 2022.
  • Foster Program. Volunteers open their homes and hearts to care for momma cats and kittens, underaged kittens, cats with treatable medical conditions, and senior cats needing end-of-life care. Once cats and kittens are healthy and/or old enough, they are placed for adoption into new homes. In 2021 we placed 587 cats and kittens into foster homes.
  • SpayShip Transport Service. Working in conjunction with FixNation, a low-cost spay/neuter clinic, SpayShip provides free transportation and trapping assistance for community and companion cats in the San Fernando Valley. Since its inception, SpayShip has facilitated the spay and neuter of close to 10,000 cats.
  • Heaven on Earth Animal Clinic. Located at the Los Angeles Animal Services West Valley Shelter in Chatsworth, we alter adoptable shelter animals and provide no or low-cost spay/neuter services to owned animals through the City’s voucher program. We support other LA area dog and cat rescue organizations by providing discounted services to animals in their care, including procedures like enucleations and amputations. We also host bi-weekly walk-in wellness and vaccine clinics. In 2022, we spayed and neutered 4,140 cats and dog.
  • Community Outreach.  Referral, guidance, support, and humane education are central to everything we do. While we cannot rescue every cat in need, we respond to each inquiry we receive from people seeking assistance.
