The mission of Heavens Care shall be to provide both the homeless, and people in need with food, educational resources, improve literacy in both children and adults, provide temporary to permanent housing to homeless and the needy, provide non-congregate shelter to both the homeless and the needy, and be a community outreach provider both during and after disasters, and in the event of a nationwide pandemic. Heavens Care will continue to be a community soup kitchen, food bank, literacy center, and homeless shelter on a regular basis.
Heavens Care shall provide education, training, healthcare resources, and coordinate service options in an effort to help the homeless, and people/families in need develop skills, support systems, and financial resources needed to reach their optimal level of independence. Heavens Care provide services to individuals and families regardless of age, race, gender, sex, sexual orientation, color, national origin, disability, gender identity, ethnicity, and economic status. We provide diversity and inclusion.
It is Heavens Care goal to end homelessness in Louisiana within the next ten to twelve years. Heavens Care shall be utilized as an overflow shelter as well when shelters in the following parishes are full. These parishes are: East Baton Rouge, Livingston, St. John Parish, Jefferson Parish, and Orleans Parish.
