For over 30 years, Helping Hands, Inc. has provided services to adults with intellectual disabilities. We originally only provided respite care for local familes with special needs individuals. That program has expanded to our summer camp/shore vacation program which provides individuals an opportunity to experience a summer camp experience or a shore vacation experience they may not otherwise be able to enjoy.
Over the years we developed our Adult Training Facility and Sheltered Workshop. Out Adult Training Facility provides day care services to adults by helping them to achieve specific goals as far as assisting in daily living skills, communication skills and forming lasting relationships with their peers. Our Sheltered Workshop employs higher functioning individuals who get paid to do contract work for local businesses.
In 1999 we acquired our first residential group home. We now operate 6 residential group homes which provide a safe and caring services for a total of 15 individuals. Our residential staff ensures that all individuals are given the individual care they require in order the thrive and be happy.
