Our mission is to provide Friendly Instant Sympathetic Help to our Herndon and Reston residents facing financial crises. Since 1969, FISH has provided financial support to an estimated 2,000 residents each year to prevent evictions or avoid utility shut-offs, to pay for vital medications or emergency dental work, and to resolve other crises. Last year, FISH provided almost $220,000 in emergency assistance to 1,250 people and we assisted Fairfax County in distributing federal Covid relief aid to another 2,206 residents of greater Fairfax County. We raise funds locally to meet our neighbors' needs through our annual gala and silent auction.
