I am a representative of the Ozark Sportsmen Club, the host of the annual Greater Saltwater Open Fluke tournament which is held in August each year. Through this tournament we raise money for our organization and a selected charity. This year’s charity, as chosen by the tournament committee will be Heroes on the Water - New Jersey Chapter. They are a 501©(3) charity (EIN 13-4367788) that works with veterans and their families."Heroes on the Water’s mission is to help wounded warriors relax, rehabilitate and reintegrate into society through kayak fishing and the outdoors. Over the past three years of taking a few thousand men and women of all branches of the armed services out kayak fishing, we have learned firsthand the ‘triple therapy’ of kayak fishing – physical with paddling and fishing, occupational in learning new skills and a sport they can do for life, and mental in the relaxation and freedom out on the water." I am reaching out to you via this letter as a request for your sponsorship in this year’s event. Any donation whether in the form of products which we can then raffle off in our tricky tray during our awards banquet following the tournament, or advertising in our tournament directory is greatly appreciated and will go far in raising money for this worthy cause.

Since its inception in 1953, The Ozark Sportsmen Club has strived to not only be ambassadors for Fish and Wildlife activities, but to give back to various charities in need. Over the years we have donated to such organizations as The Sunshine Foundation, American Cancer Society, Fallen First Responders, Victims of Super Storm Sandy, and Friends and family in the surrounding communities that were in need. With the success of the 2014 Greater Saltwater Open, we were able to donate $1400 to the NJ Chapter of Heroes on the Water. This chapter extended our member an invitation to come and see first-hand one of their events held in Sandy Hook. Without question, the members who were able to attend were blown away. We made the decision right then and there to use this local charity again for the 2015 charity. We hope to give to bigger donation this year, as our event grows.

In 2015, we plan to expand our annual fishing tournament to encompass a larger area of the coast to be fished. We plan on adding weigh stations and ultimately more boats fishing in the tournament to maximize the full potential of this event. Once again, thank you for your consideration. We hope for your continued support in the future. If interested in helping or have any questions about our organization please contact me rmy_nj@hotmail.com or call me (609) 516 4096.
