This donation request is in support of HERS Breast Cancer Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Fremont, California. Our mission is to support all individuals healing from breast cancer by providing post-surgical products and fitting services regardless of a patient's financial status. Examples of products we provide include pocketed bras and breast forms (prostheses), compression garments to alleviate swelling caused by lymph node removal, and wigs and other head coverings for patients experiencing hair loss.
We operate three San Francisco Bay Area locations (Fremont, San Leandro, and Pleasanton) and are on track this year to donate over $182K worth of products to under-served patients (individuals who are low income or under-insured). We support our work via foundation grants, individual donations, and hosting two major fundraisers each year: our spring gala and fall walk/run.
This donation request is made in support of our May 2, 2020, People with Purpose Pink Tie gala. Proceeds will benefit our three Assistance Programs (https://hersbreastcancerfoundation.org/charitable-programs/). Great America park passes or a similar donation will be added to our Family Fun-themed silent auction basket which is always a popular item at our event.
If granted, your donation will be acknowledged on our website event page under "in-kind" donations as well as on our event signage. We expect 300-350 guests at this year's event. With your permission, we’ll acknowledge your donation on our website, in our event collateral, on our social media platforms, and in our pre- and post-event newsletters.
