The Hillsborough Baseball League (HBL) is an independent, non-profit youth organization serving the community of Hillsborough, NJ since 1955.  Our organization is sustained by the dedication of our members who volunteer their time as managers, coaches, team parents, board members, committee members and concession stand staff.   We currently offer both recreational and competitive baseball programs and we are proud members of the Babe Ruth Baseball League.

The Hillsborough Baseball League has called the Mountain View Park Complex (MVP) home since 2017. MVP features seven (7), fully lighted baseball fields. This also includes a challenger field with a rubber top surface that is wheelchair accessible. Mountain View Park also features a state-of-the-art concession stand.  The spring season begins with Opening Day ceremonies which allows family, friends and sponsors a chance to meet and celebrate the kick-off of another fun, new season.

HBL offers recreational baseball programs throughout the spring season. Our goal is to provide an environment where all children can develop their baseball skills while having a fun experience being part of a team. We offer recreational teams from ages 5 through 18.  Through our Buddy League, we also provide one of the area's only baseball leagues for mentally and physically challenged youths.  Managers and coaches of all teams are expected to provide proper instruction and guidance while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship and fun.

HBL includes competitive travel baseball and softball teams for those players who take their skills to the next level. During the fall we hold tryouts for our 8U through 14U teams conducted by independent evaluators. These teams begin practice in the following winter and compete in tournaments and travel leagues during the spring and summer.  In the spring we form our 7U baseball team that plays in Summer Tournaments. In recent years several of our teams have been crowned Babe Ruth District 10 Champions and advanced to the Northern NJ State Tournament.

HBL also offers indoor winter training sessions taught by Former Hillsborough HS Coach Eric Eden for our members who want to prepare for the upcoming season.  This program is provided at a fraction of the cost of those conducted by local training facilities.  Just before the start of each spring season we hold training for our coaches, also conducted by Coach Eden and his Staff.  Professional instructors are also employed to teams for coaches looking to advance their team’s performance. These instructions and additional coaching are done before and during the season.

In the Spring 2021 HBL added softball to their competitive travel program. Hillsborough Alumni Lauren Lipinski, who, with the support of Hillsborough High School Coach Cheryl Iaione recognized the need for a competitive softball program in Hillsborough. Our purpose is to create a competitive and fun environment for softball players to grow not only as individual athletes but more importantly as a team.
