The Historic Preservation Society of Santa Clara works in conjunction with the Harris-Lass Historic House Museum.  The organization's goal is to share information about historic preservation, promote health/wellness and education at all levels.  We are a non-profit public benefit corporation, and staffed entirely by volunteers.  We do educational outreach at the grade school level and encourage children and their families to visit the Harris-Lass House to see what life was like in the 1800's on a farm.  We support education for seniors to help them enhance computer skills and avoid scams.  Through donations to the Senior Center, we support wellness at the exercise facility and indoor pools.  We serve the local community with several events each year, including an Easter Egg hunt for children and their families, a Picnic in the Park for people of all ages and the Santa Clara Historic Home Tour & Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.  The dinner is a way to thank the volunteers (over 200 people) for making the home tour possible.  All events bring the community together which is a major goal of the HPSSC.  The Santa Clara Historic Home Tour is an annual event and major fundraiser.  Funds raised are given to other local nonprofits that share our vision.
