Our mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation.  HOBY began in NY State in the late 1970s. As the program expanded, the state split the program into multiple seminars to support the numerous communities in our region. HOBY NY East began in the late 1980s servicing the eastern portion of NY from as far south as the Bear Mountain Bridge north to the Canadian border. For over 30 years, we have worked to develop the next generation of leaders and to give back to the communities that support us through our community service initiatives.

Today, we serve over 200 students providing leadership workshops, overnight leadership seminars, and organizing service learning projects.
