Hope Alive’s mission is to provide hope and encouragement with Christ-like love to emotionally hearting people. We accomplish our mission through two primary programs: Transitional Housing and Community Counseling/Intern Program.

Our Transitional Housing program provides transitional housing and comprehensive mental health services to assist women (many homeless) in becoming healthy, productive members of our community. Program participants are women with no place else to go who don’t have children living with them and who have an identifiable mental health need. Hope Alive serves women with mental, emotional, physical and spiritual needs and empowers them toward a more meaningful, productive life. Our residents represent the poor and under-served women with little or no means to pay, but with enormous needs. We serve women who can function in an independent setting but still need support to break free from old habits and move toward self-sufficiency.

Our counseling program makes low-cost mental health counseling services available to our community, while also providing mental health treatment for our transitional housing residents. Our counselors provide individual, couples, and family counseling to clients of all ages, races, genders and backgrounds. Clients who seek our services suffer from various mental health needs including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, relationship conflicts, substance abuse, and more. We ask our community clients to pay $25 per session; but, if that is not affordable, we negotiate an affordable fee. We strive for all our clients to invest in their treatment, however small the amount, in order to foster personal responsibility and commitment. That said, no one is turned away for inability to pay. We are committed to making professional mental health treatment within financial reach of anyone in need. This program also perfectly aligns with The Lutheran Foundations focus of providing access for uninsured or underinsured individuals for physical, mental and/or behavioral health care.
